Google Pixel 3 XL VS iPhone XS Max

Google VS Apple! The Big-shots Head-to-Head!

These two are the best in their own worlds. Both smartphones are currently loved by people because of what they can do in their eco system and environment. Both phones have great specifications and build quality, so taking photographs, recording videos will be amazing on both the devices. Both devices have notches but the Google Pixel 3 XL has software that can hide it but not particularly that well as they are still working on the updates. Lets get into the details:

Camera:

Both phones have amazing Cameras which take beautiful photographs and both phones can go head to head with each other in this aspect.

Google vs iPhone

Google still has one rear Camera on the back but it gives competition to the Dual System Camera setup on the iPhone XS Max. Google Uses software to edit the taken photos and it does a brilliant job at this as people have been loving the camera on the Google Pixel 2. Lowlight photography always comes out very vibrant and full of colours on the Pixel Family and this phone is nonetheless, whereas this new iPhone XS Max steps it up and takes the fight to Google in this aspect but still a lot of people prefer the Pixels' low-light photography. The Pixel 3 however has a feature called Night Sight which takes brighter photos in low-light to really get the colour in the photos.
Adjusting bokeh can be done using software, Google Lens to do shopping by just copying texts and new features like Super Res zoom which zooms in using software to improve zooming capabilities without compromising quality.

iPhone vs Google

iPhone XS' Max camera setup is a dual camera setup which has one telephoto camera and the other one is a wide angle camera, having yet the same apertures f/1.8 and f/2.4. But this time around the iPhone XS Max has Smart HDR which is better than the normal HDR as this new mode takes photos with more contrast and vibrance, the results come out spectacular and even low light photographs come out way nicer than previous devices. This iPhone, like previous generation devices, has 4K 60fps video recording which is amazing in a smartphone, unlike the Pixel which has only 4K 30fps which is good but nothing like the iPhone. The iPhone XS Max has the cameras for the bokeh and depth effect control whereas the Google uses software for that too. The iPhone has stereo recording which is a great feature as stereo recording takes the recording on the iPhone to the next level, with new video stabilisation, keeping the video stable.

Screen:

The iPhone's got a 6.5 inch OLED screen which has Smart HD Retina display which supports the latest Dolby Vision which is the standard for 4K videos, thus providing users with an amazing movie watching experience with the iTunes Store that provides 4K movies as the same price as HD. The screen is a HDR screen which makes sure it's vibrant and colourful along with the OLED panel, making the screen more brighter even in daylight situations.

Battery:

Battery on both these phones are amazing and deliver a full days worth of usage on a single usage. The Pixel 3 however has a bigger battery than the iPhone XS Max, but the iPhone has the new A12 Bionic Chip which has energy efficient cores that are doing a wonderful job, making sure that the iPhone lasts a full day of usage(talking from experience).
The Google has software modifications to save battery and even a bigger battery which helps providing the user with that extra juice to last the day.

Processor and RAM:

The Processors on both devices are amazing and do an amazing job. But the iPhone's processor beats all of the Android processors which are out these days, in terms of power and now it's even more efficient than before, thus saving battery.
The Geek-benchmark tests show the results, proving that the iPhone's 7 nano chip is on another level. The new processor in the iPhone XS Max has more power and plus more power efficient, more power less juice.
RAM on both the devices is the same. Thus, in the aspects of RAM, both devices offer the same experience.

Price:

The iPhone XS Max starts at £1,099 for the base capacity whereas the Pixel 3 XL starts at £869 for the 64GB capacity model. So the Pixel's price is quite less than that of the iPhone's.

Conclusion:

In the end, both phones are amazing and do the jobs that these phones are meant to do, having amazing cameras, great battery life and awesome new features that come with it with new software updates. In the end it comes down to user preference and what you like in a smartphone.
