You heard it, guys! Today we are discussing the iPhone XR, the money efficient version of the iPhone XS for people who want to save a couple of hundred bucks by comprising on a very few things. But first of all, let's discuss what the iPhone XR brings to the table.

Specifications and Features:

Screen:

First of all, let's talk lets talk about the screen on the iPhone XR, it's a 6.1 inch LED new Liquid Retina display, yes you heard right, it doesn't have an OLED display like the iPhone XS or XS Max or even the iPhone X. The new Liquid Retina display is supposed to be really good and rival that of OLED but OLED has more advantages than an LED screen. The new iPhone XR has a 326 pixels per inch which is the same as an iPhone 6, perhaps the new display is more efficient than previous models.

Battery:

The battery life is improved on the iPhone XR as it has a 1.5 hours longer battery life than the iPhone 8 plus. This is a big deal as the iPhone XR uses a LED screen instead of OLED but this version of the screen might be more efficient than the previous models.

Processor:

The processor in the iPhone XR is the next generation A12 Bionic Chip which is also in the iPhone XS and XS Max. This also comes with the next generation Neural Engine which is supposed to work with the camera and photo processing features and with Face ID to make it faster and more secure.

A12 Bionic, The Best Chip yet!:

The A12 Bionic is the smartest and most powerful chip in a smartphone yet. It has 2 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores but the cores have been improved a lot, as the performance cores are 15% faster than the A11 Bionic and the efficiency cores use up 50% less power than the A11 Bionic, thus increasing in battery life.

Apple-designed GPU:

The chip also has 4 cores of Apple-designed GPU built inside it, which is 50% more faster than the A11 Bionic. This results in a better, more immersive and less laggy gameplay.

Apple-designed Neural Engine:

The A12 Bionic also comes with a designed by apple Neural Engine which is built into the chip itself. This does real-time machine learning, helps make predictions for use in certain features and computes 5 trillion operations per second. The Neural Engine is an 8 core architecture and runs 9x faster than the A11 Bionic,  which is insane!!

Overall

So that's a lot of numbers but what we are trying to convey through is that your phone will be faster, more powerful and you can play immersive games while saving battery life as the efficiency cores will be used until the phone decides you need the extra juice for a heavy game. Not only that but the Enhanced ISP( image signal processor) will make capturing crisp and extremely detailed photos using the Portrait mode with greater dynamic range. The Smart HDR is also enabled by the Enhanced ISP and also features like the front camera AR effects like generating 3D effects, like putting on masks on a subjects face.

Camera:

Photos:

The amazing Camera on the iPhone XR has Smart HDR, Bokeh and Depth Control, enhanced portrait mode selfies, more low-light detail and even sharper action shots ( zero shutter lag), all this is enabled by the new neural Engine and the new advanced algorithms that have been put into the new A12 Bionic Processor. These are all the features of the cameras in the iPhone XS and XS Max, so it's good to know Apple didn't compromise the camera with the reduced price.
The front camera on the iPhone XR has been upped to a 1080p camera with HD display recording 60fps.

Videos:

The video recording on the iPhone XR is the same as the ones on the XS and XS Max with features like 4K stereo recording and better low light videos.

Face ID:

Face ID has been drastically improved with the new Neural Engine behind it, the speed is much faster on the iPhone XS Max, we will have to wait and see for the speed of it on the iPhone XR.

Memoji:

Memoji has also arrived on the iPhone XR, where you can create an Animoji of yourself and record videos with it. New Animojis have also been added to the gallery so this will be quite fun to use.

Water Proofing:

The waterproofing on the iPhone XR isn't as impressive as the iPhone XS Max. The XR has only got IP67 rating unlike the XS and XS Max which has an IP68 rating.

Wireless Charging:

The glass on the back of the iPhone XR allows for wireless charging, which is a good sign as Apple won't be going back to a phone without wireless charging, so the era has been changed from henceforth.

Pricing:

The iPhone XR price starts from £749 as a base model and goes up with the capacity choice you make. The price not that impressive but the iPhone XR does come with the same features as the iPhone XS and XS Max.

Colour Choices:

With the price, the choices of colour are spectacular too. The iPhone XR comes in a whopping 6 finishes and all of them looking mind-blowing in their own aspects. This is like an iPhone SE 2.
